Thrall + Deadspace (WA) - The Dark Enlightenment Album Launch
The coldest gig of the summer lurks upon ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ข for what is part of the return of black and death metal to Melbourneโs resurrected local haunt.
Collingwood will bear witness to the cessation of Solariaโs warmth with the misanthropic ๐๐ก๐ซ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ performing for the first time since 2023. Complimenting the void is ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ง ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐โ๐ฌ ๐๐๐๐๐ฌ๐ฉ๐๐๐ with their latest offering ๐๐๐ ๐ฟ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ก๐๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ฃ๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ, a culminating chaos of dissonant black/death metal ripping away from their DSBM roots, their flesh born anew.
The evening commences with darkness and misery from the darkwave/industrial ๐๐ซ๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ฅ๐ who stand with a long connection to the Australian black metal scene featuring Anarazel and ex-Greytomb members, with post-black upcomers ๐๐๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐ญ๐ delivering raw emotions and driven riffs to kick things off.

As one of Australiaโs most exciting and enigmatic extreme metal outfits, with a substantial near decade long career behind them, Deadspace toe the line between black metal and the avant-garde. Drawing influence from both musical and philosophical abstract thinkers, the band exists in a unique vacuum that transcends the boundaries of coherency. Embracing dissonant pandemonium, Deadspace deliver an onslaught which is both raw and texturally rich.
With an extensive and ever-evolving musical catalogue, Deadspace have graced the global live arena with grand velocity. Notably, touring Australia with Satyricon (NOR), Japan with Marduk (SWE), Merrimack (FR), Abigail Williams (USA), Fleshgod Apocalypse (IT), and Shining (SWE). In 2019 DEADSPACE embarked on a 3-week European tour spanning over 10 countries with Psychonout 4 (GE), Vanhelga (SWE), Eyelesssight (IT), Lebenssucht (GER/BEL), and Afraid of Destiny (IT).
Deadspace first emerged into the global spotlight with their debut record "The Promise of Oblivion" (2015) as a depressive black metal entity, and have since evolved into their own unique brand of apocalyptic and filthy chaos.

IRREPARABLE formed in 2019 and began to forge an experimental and emotionally expressive musical form mixing black metal with goth/darkwave and industrial/ambient.
With themes of loss and disillusionment, the band self-released their debut EP digitally in late 2019 called Transfixion (later released on CD by Narcoleptica Productions) just before the worldwide pandemic hit in 2020.
The band managed to play their debut live show in 2021 supporting US dark folk legend King Dude in between lockdowns and spent the downtime crafting what would be their 2nd EP Complete Emptiness released May 2023 by the band on CD, and by the Italian label These Hands Melt on vinyl. Complete Emptiness further explores themes of loss, cyclical suffering and emptiness and was officially launched when the band supported US goth rockers Unto Others at the Melbourne leg of their Australian tour.
Since then, the band have performed around Australia including being a part of the tour of Iceland's Mondernte and are putting the finishing touches on their next album which is due mid-2025.

Melbourne's up and coming black metal band focusing on post-black metalโs soundscape, making their own sound with a haunting blend of intensely blackened melodies and unapologetically raw emotions.
Bringing hard-hitting live shows expressing despair and misery with their bleak lyrical content. Requite brings a cathartic experience, offering a chance to confront and process the depressing aspects of existence through their live sets.
Since the release of their debut self-titled EP in June 2023 to local acclaim, Requite has been supporting Melbourne and Canberraโs renowned acts such as Aquilus, Earth Rot, Hybrid Nighmares, Claret Ash, Myridian, Writhing, Munt, In Eden Slain, Scaphis and Icelandโs Mondernte. With each of these shows further gaining a reputation for bringing an early crowd and creating the dark tone to kick off an evening of extreme metal riffage.
